Scary Movie 3.5
(Originally reviewed: 25th February 2007)
(1) A Creepy Predicament
Firstly, I have no idea what the difference between 3 and 3.5 is as I can't remember 3 well enough to say.
Largely based on The Ring, with plenty of The Matrix and 8 Mile thrown in among other movies. Crop circles appear in Charlie Sheen's cornfield. Meanwhile, people are dying seven days after watching a creepy tape...
Score: 9/20
(2) Haven't I Seen You Somewhere?
Anna Faris (Cindy Campbell) has been in all four Scary Movie films. Other horror films are Lover's Lane and May.
Regina Hall (Brenda Meeks) has been in all four Scary Movie films and not a whole lot else.
Pamela Anderson (Becca) is Pamela Anderson. 'Nuff said. Still, for completeness, she's best known for "Baywatch" and "V.I.P", although she also had a long running role on "Home Improvement" and has most recently been on "Stacked". Of interest is the fact that the Pammy & Tommy movie has a page on IMDB, complete with reviews.
Jenny McCarthy (Kate) is a playboy bunny turned actress, with roles in Scream 3 and Python, among other projects.
Charlie Sheen (Tom) is... well, yes, Charlie Sheen. Recently he's been doing "Two and a Half Men", and he also reprises his role in Scary Movie 4. Some of his best films (IMO) include Young Guns, Eight Men Out, Men At Work and the Hot Shots films. And I think I just showed my age with that list ;)
Simon Rex (George) also reprises his role in Scary Movie 4. He's in The Forsaken among other projects.
Timothy Stack (Carson Ward) is Parker's dad in "Parker Lewis Can't Lose"! He also had a run on "Punky Brewster". Yay!
Drew Mikuska (Cody) reprises his role in Scary Movie 4.
Denise Richards (Annie) has been in films such as Valentine, Wild Things and The World Is Not Enough.
Leslie Nielsen (President Harris) is known for brilliant spoofs. There's no way I'm listing them all here.
Cameo roles include George Carlin, Queen Latifah, Macy Gray, Ja Rule, Simon Cowell and a stack of rappers.
Score: 10/10
(3) Tits and Ass
Rude Bits:
Nope.
Score: 0/5
Lookers:
I have a total thing for Denise Richards, so I'm biased. But Faris, Hall, Anderson and McCarthy are all worth a perve as well. On the male front, Sheen is still hot and I'm sure plenty of people would find Rex attractive as well.
Score: 4/5

(4) Following the Formula
* An opening death
* Sweet revenge
* Red herrings
* Possession/zombies/ghosts/vampires/werew
* A killer with a tragic past
* An innovative death – no knives or guns
* An evil place
Score: 7/20
(5) Body Count
There are two different massacres, but only a couple of individual deaths.
Score: 3/5
(6) Spectacular Deaths
None, really. There's a cool screamy face, though, and an amusing corpse mutilation scene.
Score: 2/10
(7) The Yawn Test
This is so much better than the second film. It does a good job with the parodies and the cast is great. The biggest flaw for me was that it really wasn't laugh out loud funny. Actually, the two scenes that made me giggle were cut scenes added as special features. Fun, but not memorable in any way.
Score: 12/20
(10) Final Fright
None. I don't really think the repeat joke warrants a mark the third time around.
Score: 0/5
